In the beginning of the fall quarter, ASL member Yahui He and Yuyang Wang gave a talk on the topic of archaeological science and Neolithic China to sixth-grade students at the JLS Middle School in Palo Alto. They spent a wonderful afternoon introducing petrography and microfossil analysis to two classes of students and brought them on a trip to visit Neolithic cultures such as the Peiligang, Yangshao, and Longshan cultures. Students were very interested in topics such as the origins of agriculture and Sino-Tibetan migration.
